Why crochet?

I have suffered with an anxiety disorder and depression since I was a small child, and crafting is the one thing that I always seem to come back to when I need a way to find calm.

Over the years I have come to focus all my crafty time on crochet and knitting. I learnt to knit from my mum, and crochet from my grandmother.

What makes crochet so satisfying for me is the versatility. It can be used to make so many things and works up so quickly.

Crochet gives my hands something to do, preventing me from fidgeting. The rhythmic motion is very soothing. It allows my creativity to flow. It allows me to maintain focus in meetings.

My aim with this platform is to highlight the therapeutic affects of crochet, whilst also demonstrating how this craft can be achieved sustainably. I also intend to highlight the rapidly increasing numbers of rabbits needing rescue. These animals deserve so much better. My two rescue bunnies are my inspiration.
